Healthy breathing practices to enhance your workout

What to remember about breathing

  • Breathe through your nose. When you inhale through your mouth the lungs get a lot of unfiltered air that will dry your throat and fill your lungs with unnecessary viruses and bacteria’s.
  • Breathe with the diaphragm
  • While training, you can sometimes inhale while lowering the weight and exhale at the point of effort, much like a rocket taking flight, specially when executing your sets with heavier weight, this will give you an extra humph! But be careful, if you are trying to synchronize all your breaths with the pace of your lifting, you might hyperventilate, if you are executing your reps at a fast pace, or you might become of short of breath if you are going too slow.
  • Just be comfortable
  • AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH
